Yael Gitai was born in Finland and raised in Berlin by a family of Finnish and Israeli origins. Her mother was a Fashion Designer and her father a Filmaker, as a result she has been strongly influenced by film and fashion from an early age.
Her youth was spent watching her mother design beautiful knitwear collections and living in a dreamworld of movies. She was particularly inspired by artists who lived and worked in New York, which to this day has remained the city of her dreams and led her to move to America where she began to study Graphic Design and Photography, eventually pursuing a career in styling, consulting and art directing for brands.
Yael splits her time between New York and California and follows her work around the world.
